TO-NIGHT'S SPORTS. A bright programme full of thrills will be held at English Park Stadium to-night, including a motor-paced cycle race of two heats of three miles, and the final of the five miles. Motor-paced racing is proving very popular with the public, especially when riders of the calibre of Willie Jlackie, W. T. Weir, J. Henderson, C. Austin, J. 'Bearman, and E. Condon take part. With considerable experience during the past few weeks, these riders will give a thrilling exhibition. The handicaps are as follows: —W. llackie scr, J. Bearman 100 yds, W. T. Weir 150 yds, J. Henderson 175 yds, C. Austin 225 yds, E. Condon 325 yds. The motor-cyclists are "Fritz" Holland, Eddie Marra, and Len Scuffell. In all, twenty-three events will be decided, including half and one-mile open handicaps, and 120 yds and 880 yds flat handicaps. The cream of the Dominion's cyclists, sprinters, and long-distance runners will take part in the supporting programme. The track is brilliantly lighted with powerful electric lights, and the racing can be seen from any part of the ground. Seating accommodation is provided for thousands. The sports will commence at eight o'clock, and special trams will run from Cathedral square at frequent intervals. In the event of unfavourable weather, the sports will be held on Monday night.
