LUNCH HAMPERS.

RAILWAY DEPARTMENT INNOVATION. [THE PBESS Special Service.] AUCKLAND, December 1. Lunch hampers on the AucklandWellington express are to be the latest and perhaps the most welcome innovation of the Railway Department. It will come into operation on Monday, when the Daylight Limited' begins. Lunch hampers, which promise to be most attractive, will be provided from the refreshment rooms at Frankton Junction and Marton. Passengers who propose to have their lunch on the train may ask the guard or stationmaster to order one. The order will be telegraphed ahead, and when the train arrives at the station the hampers will be delivered personally to whoever. orders them. Instead of the rush to eat in the refreshment rooms, when the train stops at the station, the passengers will now be able to eat in comfort and at their leisure.
