CRYSTAL PALACE.
A comedy of woman's wile's, smart titles, and elegant frocking is "The World at Her Feet," a Paramount production which has priority of place on the programme 'at Crystal Palace Theatre this week. Florence "Vidor is the star, and appears as a woman lawyer.' She and her husband are quite happy until a sudden obundance of money gives him the opportunity—and inclination —to retire. The result is far-reaching, for the erstwhile happy couple drift'. apart. How sho succeeds provides some piquant comedy situations, including a risque bedroom scene where the climax of the comedy occurs. George Caswell, "Alias the Deacon, "was not a.good man to play show poker with, but although a card-sharper not unknown' to the police, he was - a most' likeable rogue, and, (he comedy-drama in which he is the.central feature--^"Alias the Deocon"—is one of the most : human stories one could possibly imagine.. Jean HershOlt has the lead in this production and does some really sterling work In his-characterisation of the bogus cleric who finds it easy to collect tribute from those whose faith is greater than their judgment.
