STRAND THEATRE.
"Beware of Widows," an intriguing romance, heads the bill at the Strand Theatre this week. The fascinating and beautiful Laura La Plante is in the leading role. The story tells of Joyce Bragdon, who is engaged to a young doctor, highly popular with the ladies. They decide to get married at once, and go to a resort where Paula, one of the doctor's admirers, is staying. Paula „ feigns illness, and brings the doctor to her room. Joyce hears of this and breaks off the engagement. There is an unexpected climax, which straightens the tangle in an original manner. The second picture is "Soul Mates," featuring Aileen Pringle. It is an adaptation of Elinor Glyn's. novel, "The Reason Why." It tells of a beautiful English girl, who is forced into an unwelcome marriage with a nobleman. On the same programme is screened a scenic, a comedy, and a news film.
