At New Brighton—Dalton, Bryan, Matson, Herd (s). VILLA CLUB. Playing at St. Albans Park, Villa defeated Beaths, Ltd., by 48 runs. Villa scored 103 (Andrews 44, Goddard 21, Berry 10), and Beaths 65 (Jackson 16, Bruorton 14). Morley took three wickets for 25, Streeter three for 14, and Bell four for 13. THE STEANS CUP. The annual match between the Christ' chdrch and South Canterbury Centres for the Steans Cup will take place on Saturday next at Timaru. MALVERN ASSOCIATION. Playing in the senior competition at Sheffield, Darfield A met Sheffield A, and the result was a drawn game. For Sheffield the double-figure scorers were L. Jenkins 13, Q. Wright 25, J. Gunn 76, T. lunes 14, R. Townshend 16, J. Judd 14; and for Darfield, A, Robinson 31, L. Westwood 15, H. Westwood 23 not out, J. Millard 10 not out. Bowb'ng for Sheffield, L. Jenkins secured one for 18, Q. Wright two for 37, and J. Gunn one for 31; and for Darfield, H. Westwood three for 50, J. Millard four for 58. H. Edbrtfok two for 19, G. Reveley one for 11. Playing in the junior competition, Sheffield B beat Darfield by 47 runs. Sheffield B made 168, and Darfield B 121. Scorers for Sheffield were Ussher 13, Hookwuy 63 not out, W. Edge 40; and for-Darfield, P. Reveley 20, M. Anderson 15, W. J. Cooko 11, G. Ottcn 20, and R. Painter 11. Bowling for Sheffield, A. Cameron secured eight wickets for 49 runs, and R. Ferguson two for 40 runs; and for Darfield, R. Westwood five for 45, and T. Hennesey four for 34.
