"BEWARE OF WIDOWS."

AN INTRIGUING ROMANCE. AT STRAND THEATRE. A highly amusing and well-varied programme is being screened at the Strand Theatre this week, "Beware of Widows;' j being the main pictorial attraction. The I fascinating and beautiful Laura ia Plante I is in the stellar role, while Bryant Wash- j burn lends admirable support. It is a j social drama, the plot centring in the ambitions of a young and charming widow. It is a highly amusing story in which the humour has been cleverly introduced. Exciting incidents follow in quick succes- . sion, the widow passing through many thrilling adventures before the picture is brought to a happy ending. Miss la Plante gives an excellent characterisation of the scheming widow. i The supporting picture is "Soul Mates," j starring Aileen Pringle and Edmund Lowe. It is the story of a young couple, who, despite the adverse workings of fate, at last attain happiness. Miss Pringle is noted for her clever acting, and the picture gives her ample opportunity of displaying her ability. Screened on the same programme is a comedy, an interesting New Zealand scenic, and a news film.
