Saturday's programme is even more attractive as the final of the motor-paced race will be held The field is a strong one, the finalists being W. Mackie, who has many motor-paced wins to his credit; O. Austin, the South Island road champion, and W. T. Weir, a successful pace follower. The final will be over a distance of five miles, and the riders will be' handicapped, with Mackie on scratch. As a speed of over thirty-seven miles an hour was registered on Monday, when the heats were run, Mackie will have to do over forty miles an hour to win. Included on the programme are the half and one mile open handicaps, half-mile amateur race, and 440 yards cash flat handicap.
