—♦ Fire in Hobart. Hobart, November 21. —Fire in tho premises of Charles Davis, Ltd., hardware merchants, in Elizabeth street, caused extensive damage. Tho firo raged for several hours before tho firemen were able to get it under control. Batter Factory Burnt. Melbourne, November 21. —Firo destroyed a portion of the Corobrooko butter factory near Corobrooko. The damage amounted to £30,000. The factory was six miles from the township, and, not being connected with the water supply, the firemen were practically helpless. Tho insurance amounted to only £12,000. Religion In Australia. Sydney, November -I.—Speaking at the blessing of the foundations of a now school aud monastery at Manly, Archbishop Kelly said that Australia was not progressing morally, and indifference to religion and what it meant could be observed. London, November 20.—Vera, Lady Cathcart, who is lying critically ill, suffered a relapse on hearing the newa of tho death of Earl Cathcart, her former husband.
