LATE COLONEL FOSTER. (bt cabIe—PRESS ASSOCIATION—COPrKIOHT.) (ATJSTBALIAN AND N.Z. AND SUN CABLE.) ' LONDON, November 18. The church was crowded for the funeral of Colonel Foster. Many prominent Army men were present. General Godley, during the service, said: "Colonel Foster served under my command first before the war in New Zealand, second at Gallipoli, and third at Tidworth, in 1927. He was engrossed in his profession, and spared no pains to qualify for appointment to staff positions and commands. He was straightforward, modest, and of marked strengtn of character. His loss will be equally mourned in Australia and New Zealand and Britain." Squadrons of Dragoons, Lancers, and Hussars escorted the cortege. The Lancers sounded the Last Post, and the Dragoons fired the volley at the graveside. Fifty wreaths were deposited on the grave.
