HAINES FOUND GUILTY. (BT CABLE—PP.ESB ASSOCIATION— COPYRIGHT.) (AUSTRALIAN AND N.Z. CABLE ASSOCIATION.) ADELAIDE, November 19. William Haines was found guilty of the murder of Nellie Schmidt at Bridgewater. Sentence was deferred. [At a picnic at Bridgewater on October 13th, Nellie Schmidt, aged 18, was shot five times through the head. Haines, aged 25, was charged with the murder. Haines walked into the busfi after committing the crime and shot himself in the head. Jealousy was thought to be the motive.]
