Yachting Mishap, The well-known Lyttelton keel yacht Waterbeetle met 'with a mishap at Little Port Cooper last evening, when she was stranded in a rather dangerous position off the rocks near the beach. A party of two young men and girls had sailed down to the Bay during the morning and had picnicked ashore. When leaving, about 5 o'clock, the yacht was caught by a gust o: wind before she had steerage way on and driven ashore. The girls scrambled waist-deep in water on to the rocks, and after making the yacht as safe as possible the men followed. They were cared for by the chief signalman, Mr J. Burns, and his wife. Although the keel of the Waterbeetle was touching the rocks at U>w tide, it did not appear to have suffered much damage.
