♦ AMATEUR CLUB'S RACES. The amateur clubs ran two races at Pap - nui Domain on Saturday, and provided some fine sport for their supporters. Results:—-Half-mile Open—First heat: L. Selwood 1, R. Ferguson 2. Time, 64 4-ssec. Second heat: H. Roberts 1, L. Pearce 2. Time, 64 4-ssec. Third heat: R. Chammon 1, M. Pearl 2. Time, 64 2-sßec. Fourth heat: J. Roberts 1, S. Forward 2. Time, '63 3-5 sec. Final: J. Roberts (130 yds) 1, L. Selwood (95yds). 2; G. Forward (65yds) 3. Time, 63 l-ssec. Won by two lengths. Three-mile Open—First heat: T. O'Brien 1, F. Grose 2, R. Fleming 3. Time, 7min SOsec. Second heat: A. Day 1, M. Pearl 2, L. Pearco 3. Time, 7min 32sec. Third heat: L. Selwood 1, G. Forward 2, R. Forscutt 3. Time, 7min 29sec. Final: L. Selwood (275 yds) 1, R. Forscutt (230 yds) 2, G. Forward (230 yds) 3. Time, 7min 31sec. Owing to the track becoming slippery, F. Grose fell when leading, and Selwood was the only rider to miss the mix-up which resulted, and won as he liked. The others remounted their machines and filled the places. No bne was hurt.
