FOUND HANGING.
♦ DISCOVERY IN CITY. Shortly after eight o'clock on Saturday night, Jonathan Hague was found dead by his wife, hanging by a cord in a bedroom at his residence, 111 Manchester street. Hague was a labourer, 40 years of age, and had been out of regular employment for the past sixteen months. When he was last seen alive, at 8 o'clock on Saturday night, he appeared to be in good health and spirits, and gave no indication of any intention of suicide. The police report that Mrs Hague heard an unusual noise in the bedroom and went to investigate and there found the body of her husband. The police were summoned immediately, and artificial respiration was tried without result. An inquest into his death was opened at the morgue yesterday afternoon, before Mr E. D. Mosley, Coroner, when evidence of identification was given by deceased's widow. The inquest was adjourned until Tuesday morning. Hague leaves a wife and four children.
