THE GOVERNOR GENERAL.
——♦ PUBLIC ENGAGEMENTS CANCELLED. (FREBS IDSOCIATIO* TBUSORAM.) "WELLINGTON, November 18. - It is expected that the GovernorGeneral will be confined to the house for some time, and on the recommendation of his medical advisers his Excellency has cancelled his more immediate public engagements. The garden party which was to have been held at Government House on Tuesday next, has been postponed to a later date to lie announced, but other Government House gatherings for which invitations were issued by their Excellencies for the last week in November will take place unless notification is made later to the contrary. In the opinion of his Excellency's physicians, it will not be advisable for him to undertake for several weeks public engagements outside Government House. The Masonic Grand Lodge officers have been advised that the Gover-nor-General will be unable to attend the Grand Lodge Communication., at which he was to be installed as Grand Master. The arrangements regarding the annual Communication are now being reconsidered.
