H. Matson and Co. report that at the skin gale held on Thursday an offering of 7284 skins, 33 bags of wool, and five bales of wool were submitted to a small bench of buyers. DUNEDIN MARKETS. [THB PBBBS Special Berries.] DUNEDIN, November 18. 'There is not much interest being shown in the milling wheat market, and, as a matter of fact, there are practically no offerings. With the decreased demand for flour being experienced by millers they have not the same incentive to come on the market for wheat, and they apparently have sufficient stocks to see them through to the next harvest. Any small lots that may reach the market are being placed with poultry-keepers, and they are paying 6s 6d per bushel, sacks extra, ex truck Dunedln. The nominal quotation for Tuscan milling wheat is 6s on trucks, sacks extra, country sidings, with a relatively higher price for Hunters. The oat market continues in a lifeless condition. Stocks are light, but there is no demand for the Jines on offer. The current quotation is 3s 6d, f.0.b., s.i,, for A's, and 3s 2d for B's. The quotation to farmers for any small lots is 2s 6d, sacks extra, country sidings, for A's, and 2s 3d for B's. Interest is being shown in forward sales for delivery next season, A Gartons being quoted at 3s sd, f.0.b., s.i. Prospective buyers, however, are not prepared to pay this price. It is noticeable this season that there is not the same keenness to make forward sales, and this may be brought about by the present position in Australia. The latest reports from Victoria state that the dry weather has affected the oat cropß there. Some heavy forward sales have been .recorded in Melbourne, one line of 80,000 bushels, MarchApril delivery, having changed hands three times, on each occasion at an advance in price. It will not be long now before oats will be harvested in Australia. A line of new season's oats has, indeed, already come on the Sydney market. The position in New Zealand will depend on how the Australian oat crops thresh out. There is a possibility that oats will again be wanted from New Zealand.

Consignments of chaff continue on the light side, but they are quite sufficient to meet the local demand. The current quotation is £5 to £5 5s per ton, sacks extra, ex truck. The shipping market is quiet. Reports from the North Island state that there is very little chaff being consumed there this season. Most of the supplies have been drawn from Blenheim and Canterbury. Old potatoes, which are scarce, are valuable. Usually at this time of the year old potatoes are not in much demand, as the new crop is available. The old potato market continues firm at £9 to £lO per ton, ex track, sacks in. Apart from the usual retail trade there is not much business passing. In seeds, the overseas markets are quiet, and there is praetieotly no demand from any outside quarter for expert lines, raeh as whHo efover, xyegrotf, dofttail, «U.,
