ENGLISH PARK STADIUM.

—: ♦- TO-MORROW NIGHT'S SPORTS. | Yesterday the contestants in the three miles motor paced raca had a try-out under actual ra.cing conditions at English Park Stadium in readiness for the big event which is to take place to-morrow night. Though only practice was being indulged in, the spectacle of three motor-cycles tearing around the track followed by the fast-pedalling riders, was a thrilling one. To-morrow night the racing under the electric lights will be much more spectacular. Although Jlackie has an unbeaten record behind the motors, it is quite on the cards that he will meet his match tomorrow. Bearmau late last season in a match race against Mackie rode remarkably well and was well in the lead when he fell. Bearman is now a much improved rider, and is out to lower the colours of his formidable rival. Of the other riders in the race, W. T. 'Weir is the only one with a past record of motor paced riding. A few months ago he was second in a handicap race. E. Condon, J. Henderson, and C. Austin arc unknowu quantities in this class of race, but their records on the road and track are good, and any one of them may cause a surprise. Apart from the motor paced race there is a first-class programme of sprint cycling and running, including a paced two miles scratch race in which all tbe' "heads" are riding. Half and one mile open handicaps have attracted large entries. George Getson, one of the best distance runners in the Dominion, will be the scratch man in the 880 yds flat handicap, in which a big field has nominated. The (ports will commence at 8 o'clock. Special tram* will run to tile Stadium.
