U.S. OIL SCANDAL.
TAMPERING WITH JURY ALLEGED. (BY CABLE—PRESS ASSOCIATION— COrtKIGHT.) (ACSTKALIAN AND K.Z. CABLE ASSOCIATION.) WASHINGTON. November 15. A new development in the Fall-Sin-clair oil case scandal and the subsequent charges of tampering with the jury occurred when Mr Justice Siddons appointed a committee of three members of the Bar to investigate the activities leading to his recent declaration of a mis-trial, and to institute criminal proceedings against those guilty if their findings warrant it. The Judge's action is taken as indicating that proceedings for contempt of Court are likely to be taken against a number of persons allegedly involved.
The United States Attorney, Mr Gordon, who has been leading the Government's investigation of alleged jurytampering, is included in the committee.
In the meantime, Detective Burns and his son await a further questioning before the Grand Jury.
