ELLESMERE SUB-ASSOCIATION. A meeting of the Ellesmore Lawn Tennis Sub-Association was held at Springeton on Monday evening, when there were present: Messrs L. Harris (president), Templeton, W. A. Sawyer, A. Stanley, W. Mounce, A. J. Sheat, K. W. Macpherson, and F. A. Straok. It was decided to suspend competition matches after December 3rd, until some time in February, when the second round will commence.

It was agreed to issue challenges to the Malvern Sub-Association for matches on December 10th or 17th, to the Ashburton SubAssociation on January 7th or 14th, and to the City and Suburban Association on January 21et and 28th. Each team is to consist of eight men and eight women players. Mr Harris was appointed manager of the team to visit Malvern, the appointment of captain being left to the Selection Committee. COMPETITION EESULTS. • The wins eecared by tho various teams in the competitions to date were given as follows: First Grade—Waihora 0, Dunsandel 2, Springston 2, Leeston, No. 1 2, Leeeton No. 2 2, Southbridge 0. Second Grade—Waihora 1, Dunsandel 2, Springston 1, Leeston 2, Southbridge 0. BANKING LIST. The positions of players on the ranking lists are as foliowst— Women—Miss Cunningham, Miss Gwatkin, Mrb Dalley, Miss J. Wright, Miss Dunlop, Miss D. Wright, Mrs Kushton, Miss Free, IVliss Dyce, Mrs Sowden, Mrs Templeton, Misa McKenzie. Men—Watson, Leahy, Sawyer, Free, Collins, Maguinness, Owers, Wraight, Macpherson, E. W. Hunt, Stanley, Harris. The challenges received are: —Women: Miss McKenzie v. Mrs Sowden for tenth place. Men: Harris v. E. W. Hunt for tenth place, Maguinness v. Collins for fifth place, Sawyer v. Watson for first place.

SEFTON V. WOODEND.

Playing at Woodend, Sefton defeated the local club by 86 games to 75.
