GOLF.

AVONDALB CLUB. On Saturday afternoon a medal handicap match, the first of a series of monthly summer events, will be played at Avondale. Post entries will be received, and players will arrange for their own scorers. An invitation is extended by the Avondale Golf Club to all members and emergencies 'of the Canterbury representative golf team to compete in this match.

HAREWOOD CLUB. The tie in the bogey four-ball match of the closing day competitions between A. B. Blank and E. N. McFarlane, and L. J. le Cren and K. Clarke, was re-played over the week-end, and resulted in a win for the former with a score of 3 up against the latter's all square.
