FASTEST STEAMERS.
AMERICAN'S OBSERVATIONS. (by cable—press association—copyright.) (australian and n.z. cable association.) (Received November loth, 8.10 p.m.) SAN FRANCISCO, November 14. Harold de Olgja, of tin© Matson Ocean Line, who has returned after a three months' trip to Britain, said: "There are between 25,000 and 30,000 travellers who will make the crossing from Australia to England in the next twelve months, and from my observation most of these people will travel by way of the United States. The average Englishman or Australian wants to travel in larger ships, and I found that they are not averse to riding in American vessels so long as they can travel in comfort on the fastest steamers."
