STRAND THEATRE.
"The Shock" is exciting melodrama with Lon Chaney, the incomparable character actor, in the leading role as a cripple. Supporting him is Virginia Valli, who takes the part of a wealthy girl against whom -an underworld gang Beek vengeance on account of a wrong her father committed. "Sally, Irene, and Mary" tell conjointly of the life of three Broadway girls, Sally who loves her e)derly "papa," Irene who loves without considering the price, and Mary, who loves a plumber and a good time.
