CHURCH ADVERTISING.
MORE ATTRACTIVE FORM ADVOCATED. "I am firmly convinced that the Churches could use their' usual Saturday advertisements, all of which deal with ihe services in the individual churchee,. to far greater advantage," said Mr Frank Thompson, District Secretary for Methodist Church Property, addressing members of the Methodist Synod at the Sydenham Church last right. "There is no interest to the ordinary man in the street in flie fact that a certain choir will sing such and 6uch an anthem. Certainly the little advertisements hold interest for some, but that some is not many. In any case the number of people who read the advertisements is small.
"I advocate thai the Churches pool their advertising money, and insert a type of advertising which would prove far more popular. The type of advertisement which I think would be appreciated is a decent sized 'wayside pulpit' advertisement. They would be read by hundreds, and furthermore would be appreciated to their fullest extent. The small advertisement few read, the big and interesting advertisements many would read.''
