Following on the execution of a Moslem named Abdul Bashid for the assassination of a Hindu priest, amazing seene3 were witnessed in Delhi. Fifty thousand Moslems made a demonstration outside the gaol, and demanded the body, and after promising to bury it on the gaol premises, took it through the city. Rioting ensued, and British troops with armoured cars were called out. Many rioters were injured.
