One hundred and fifty passengers and crew were drowned through the foundering of a coastal launch, and it is feared that a similar number was lost by the capsizing of a ferry boat in a cyclone at Bombay. A mail steamer, which left for Africa, was driven back to Bombay, and others outward bound were unable to leave the harbour.
