RETURNS FOR MONTH.

The Superintendent, Mr C. C. Warner, reported to last night's meeting of the Christchurch Fire Board, that the number of calls received from October sth to was 33, of which 8 were false alarms, four being given maliciously, two being hedge and rubbish fires, and 20 actual fire., on property in the City. The estimated amount of fire loss during the period was £3009. The insurances on buildings and contents were £43,090 and the estimated values of proferty £68,710. The above losses did not include the fire at Aulsebrook's biscuit factory.
