FLIGHT ABANDONED.
'PLANE FALLS IN SEA. (BI CABLN—PBN63 ASSOCIATION— COPTKQHT.) (AUSTRALIAN AND V.Z. CAILN ASSOCIATION.) HORTA (Azores), November 13. The seaplane D 1220 took off, but had not gone far when the engine stopped and the machine fell. The airmen jumped and swam until they were picked up by a motor-boat, from which the crash had been noticed. The 'plane was badly damaged, and probably the trans-Atlantic attempt will be abandoned). [The German aeroplane D 1220 took off from Schellingwonde on a flight to America via Lisbon on October ltith.]
