ALTERATIONS AND IMPROVEMENTS.

When the Slaughtering and Inspection Act Amendment Bill, which gives the Christchurch City Council authority to raise a loan by special order to enable alterations and improvements to be. carried out at £he City Abattoir, was under consideration in Parliament, the opinion was expressed by some members that the stock should be killed at the freezing works instead of the abattoir.
