WHIPPET RACING.
COMING MEETINGS. 'Nest Saturday the New Zealand "Whippet Racing Club will be holding one of its ordinary meetings at the New Brighton racecourse. Three events, an open handicap, a secondclass handicap, and a hurdles handicap, will be run, and, from the enthusiasm shown at the recent New Zealand Cup meeting, it appears that- the meeting next Saturday will be a popular one. -v Interest is added to next Saturday's meeting by the fact that practically all the competitors'will also be competing in the meetings which are being arranged in Danedin and Auckland. The southern meeting is to take place next week, being run in conjunction with a number of athletic events,' and competition is bound to be very keen, as, in addition to the Dunedin and Christchurch dogs, there will be a large contingent of competitor* from the Southland Club. The Auckland meeting is to be held in connexion with the A. and P. Association's annual show, and, although there are not very many whippets qnartered in the Auckland district, the Christchurch owners will be strongly represented at thil fixture.
