OBITUARY.

MR F. E. WILSON. (PBKSS ASSOCIATION TZLZGBAK.) NEW PLYMOUTH, November 14. _ The * death occurred to-day of Mr Frank Edwin Wilson, Mayor of New Plymouth since 1921. Though in indifferent health, Mr Wilson attended to his Mayoral and professional duties up to Saturday morning. He was very unwell on Saturday night, and a doctor was called. He became unconscious and was removed to hospital at 4 a.m. on Sunday. He remained unconscious until the end came at 11 a.m. to-day. It is understood that cerebral menin-' gitis was the cause of death.

A MAORI CHIEF.

(PEESS ASSOCIATIOK TELEGBAM.) NEW PLYMOUTH November 14. The burial of Rangi Matatoro, a chief of the Ngatiawa tribe at Matarikioki, near Waitara, on Saturday afternoon, was a most impressive ceremony, and was largely attended by Maoris and pakehas.
