INDUSTRIAL MATTERS IN NEW ZEALAND.

AUSTRALIAN'S PRAISE. (PBKSS &BSOCUTIOS MUGBAIt.) WELLINGTON, November 13. Mr J. P. Kirby. the father of industrial advocates of Australia and New Zealand with 36 years' experience in industrial work, and now in New Zealand to attend a conference concerning the New Zealand stage employees' dispute, considers New Zealand far in advance of Australia in industrial matters. The conciliation system, in his opinion, could not be improved upon. He had been endeavouring to get the Commonwealth Attor-ney-General to adopt the New Zealand system. He thought New Zealand would be very unwise to appoint a new assessor for each separate dispute, and considered that the Australian State industrial laws should be wiped out, and the Federal Government should control all industries.
