OLYMPIA.
THE CLOSING SCENES. To the accompaniment of a sustained chorus from the motor horns, OJyrnpia, 1927, was brought to a close on Saturday evening at 10 o'clock, after a. very successful season. At the night session, the attendance was'very large and Middleton's Orchestra played, musical selections. Motor-cars on the various stands were on the move immediately after the playing of the National Anthem, and there was a steady stream through the main entrance, those remaining over the week-end being covered up at once. Mr G. W. Tench, president of the Canterbury branch of the New Zealand Motor Traders' Association, told a reporter that the week had been most successful, and, although exact figures could not be given for a few days, the sales had shown an increase on those of last year. The attendance of the public had also been very satisfactory. Throughout the season excellent cooperation had taken place between the firms and organisations represented. Mr Tench taid the excellent publicity given to Olympia by the newspapers had been one of the greatest factois in its success.
