The Weather. * The sun made a welcome reappearance yesterday after having been hidden by dark clouds for some days, but a cold south-westerly wind kept the air cool. Parming Operations. . Farmers who have commenced shearing have been hampered by bad weather, and in some cases the shorn sheep have suffered. The enquirj- for farm labour has been quiet lately, and several farm labourers are seeking employment. The shearing sheds will provide work for many of the men shortly, and there will be a demand for farm workers when the weather improves. Street Improvement. Good progress is beiug made with the work of re-forming Cannon street, and it is expected that if the weather holds the work will be completed within a fortnight. It is proposed to tar the surface in a manner similar to that of Stafford street.
