AMERICAN OIL PROJECT.
THE AUSTRALIAN MARKET. EXPLOITATION PROPOSED. (by cablb—pblss associatiok—coptbight.) (aubtbaliah and *.*. cabli association.. (Received November 10th, 7.20 p.m.) NEW YORK, November 9. The 'New York Times" financial editor says the Union Oil Company and the California and Atlantic Refining Company, according to information received in the financial district today, plan the formation of a joint company to enter the Australian and Far Eastern markets. The former concern has been operating in Australia for some time, but only to a limited extent, while Che present plans call for one of the most ambitious projects of tho kind undertaken by American oil interests for some years, with the construction in Australia and possibly the Far East of refineries, service stations, and distributing depots. It is expected! soon after January Ist that a tanker service from the Pacific Coast to Australia will be started.
