TREATY BETWEEN FRANCE AND JUGO-SLAVIA. (BT CABLE— I>R*SS ASSOCIATION— COPYRIGHT.) (AUSTRALIAN AND N.Z CABL» ASSOCIATION.) LONDON, November 9. Tho news that France and Jugoslavia have reached the point of concluding a pact is perturbing Italy, where it is regarded as an unfriendly act towards Italy and conclusive evidence of France's anti-Italinn intention.
The Belgrade correspondent of "The Times" says that it is officially denied that the 'pact is directed at a third party. It is pointed out that it w merely an extension of Locarno and will contribute to Europe's peace. Moreover, Britain had been notified and had expressed the greatest pleasure at the negotiations. The French Minister, M. Dard, issued a statement, which emphasises the fact that practically _no changes have occurred in the relations between Jugo-Slavia and France. _ The pact constitutes a solemn manifestation of friendship and a common desire for peace.
