ENGAGEMENTS CANCELLED YESTERDAY. His Excellency the. GovernorGeneral, Sir Charles Fergusson, Lady Alice Fergusson, Miss Frances Dugdale, and Captain E. P. O. Boyle returned to Wellington by the ferry steamer last evening. Owing to a severe attack of neuritis in the head and eyes, his Excellency was unable to attend the official opening of the Royal Show, and remained indoors at the Clarendon Hotel until the time for departure.
