PURCHASE BY TASMANIA. (BT CABLE—PfcESS ASSOCIATION—COPTEISHT.I (AUSTRALIAN AND X.Z. CABLE ASSOCIATION.) (Received November 10th, 12.20 p.m.) MELBOURNE, November 10. The secretary of the Victorian branch of the Seamen's Union announces that he has drafted a proposal for purchase by the Tasmanian Government of five of the Commonwealth line of steamers.
