"SCOTS WHA HAE."

GATHERING OF THE CLANS. The pipes skirled wildly when the clansmen forgathered last evening, on the occasion of the twenty-sixth annual gathering of the clans, held in the Scottish Society's Hall last evening. Memories of Scotland were brought back by the s % prigs of fragrant heather distributed to each one present. From all over Scotland this heather had been sent, and to each piece was. pinned a card giving the name and address of the sender, with whom the recipient is to communicate. Mr J. Chisholm, Chief of'the Society, extended a welcome to all present, and especially to those visitors from the country. Proceedings were opened by the national ode, "Scots wha' hae," finely rendered by Mr A. A. McLachlan. The-audience gave a most enthusiastic hearing to the excellent concert which followed. The following items were contributed:—Selection, by the Society's Pipe Band: song, "Bonnie Dundee," by Mr Arthur McDonald; Highland reel, Misses McLachlan, Campbell, Belmar. and Dickson; song, "Border Ballad," Miss A; McClean; song, "There's, a Wee Bit Land," Mr R. Allison; Highland fling, Misses G. Kerr, J. Potts, and M. Neate; item, Miss A. Duff; song, "Standard on the Braes o' Mar," Mr. E. H. Borthwick; seann triubhais, Miss B. Peddie. The second part of the concert was opened by a pianoforte selection, "Scottish Airs," by Mrs J. Forrester, Mus. Bac; then followed the song "My Love is Like a Red, Red Rose," Mr A. McDonald; song, selected, Mr A. McLachlan; sailor's hornpipe. Misses Gimblett and Fort; song, seelcted, Mr David McGill; song, selected. Mr Laurie Campbell; gillie callum, Miss 3. McLachlan; gong, "Scotland Yet," Mr W. Cotton; reel o" Tulloch, Misses D. Bruce and C. Walton. Messrs j". Fraser and D. Bruce. The evenmg concluded with "Auld Lang Syne." Miss Alice Gibb, A.T.C.L., acted as accompanist. To-nigb't a grand Scottish concert 'will be given in the Society's rooms.
