BALL AT WEST MELTON.
♦ On Thursday evening a very successful ball, in aid of the tea-tent at the forthcoming garden fete at Lawford in December, -was held in the social hall. There was a good attendance, and the function was a huge success both socially and financially. A large and energetic committee, with Mrs C. Whyte as convener, had made excellent arrangements for the enjoyment of all present. The hall was tastefully decorated with streamers and greenery, whilst in the supper room the tables wero artistically decorated with vases of pansies, tulips, and other spring flowers. The supper tables were supervised by the ladies of the district, who supplied a dainty supper. The floor was in excellent order, and the dance music was supplied by Mr H. Terry (Lincoln), extras being contributed by Misses Annie Langdale-llunt, Thelma Whyte, and Iris Chambers. Mr T. Hunt was M.C.
