FIRES.
FIRE IN EMPTY HOUSE. The Central Fire Brigade received a call at 9.20 o'clock last evening to a four-roomed cottage at the corner of Bordesley street and Ferry road. The cottage, which was a very "old one, was untenanted. A fire had broken out in one of the back rooms, but little damage was done. The owner of the premises is not known. AT NEW BRIGHTON. A two-roomed house, situated at Bridge street, South Brighton and adjoining the South Brighton Hall, was destroyed by fire shortly after 10 a.m. yesterday. The local fire brigade were present and prevented the fire from spreading to the hall. The building is owned by Mrs H. Patience. The need for protection against fire loss is obvious.
