BAND OF HOPE.
FIRST DEMONSTRATION CONCERT.
The Choral Hall on Saturday evening was thronged by a very enthusiastic audience when the first section of prize winners in the recent competitions gave the programme. . The performers excelled themselves and all received gifts from appreciative friends. Tho second demonstration concert will be held to-night, when the following performers will give their first-prize items:—Pianoforte duet, Ethel Foster and Edna Richards; recitation, Betty Wanty; vocal soloi Kathleen Chappie; Bcarf drill, Durham street S.; humorous recitation, Joan Hughes; pianoforte solo, Gwcn Davies; recitation, Mirettn Shier: action song, Knox; vocal solo, Rona" Hill; muscal monologue, Mis 3 11. Shier; club solo, Florric Carson; recitation, Clivo McNeil; humorous character sketch! Kathleen Chappie: pianoforte duet, Misses G.' Davies, E. Gib'os; dumbbell, Knox; recitation, Doris Donnelly; vocal solo, Alice Chapman; pianoforte solo, Ethel Foster; maypole dance, Durham street; recitation, Dawson Douglas; song in character, Muriel Kershaw; pianoforte solo, Gwcn Davies; recitation, Raymond Thomson; vocal solo, .Elder Masson; duet in character, Doris Donndly and Grace Nixon; boys' wand drill, Knox. The presentation of tho shields and medals will also take place.
