SYDENHAM SCHOOL.
■At the November meeting of the Sydenham School Committee there were present: Messrs P. A. Prayle (chairman),, Messrs J. H. Pratt, C. H. Kintoul, H. H. McCaw, H. Botl, J. G. Brown, A. E. Stone, T. Tremberth, and J. W. Batley. The headmaster reported that the average attendance was 896, or 04 per cent. The chairman said that he regretted to have to report that Miss Duncan, a teacher for over forty years in the school, and who had recently received a testimonial from the school children and committee, had passed away. It was decided to send a letter of sympathy to the family. It was decided that a picnic be held on Wednesday, February 15th, 1927, the place to be decided by a snb-committee consisting of Messrs Frayle, Pratt, and Brown. It was agreed to hold a fancy dress carnival on November 26th in the school ground. The cost of fuel for the past winter being so heavy owing to a faulty system, it was" decided to ask the Education Board to replace' the system with a more up-to-date one during the holidays.
