SWIMMING.

CHRISTCHURCH LADIES' CLUB. The committee of the Christchurch Ladies' Amateur Swimming Club met on Thursday, Mrs W. Brown being in the chair. Mesdames D. Henry, F. Feaver, Misses T. Morrissey, M. E. Smith, H. Brown, M. Pawsoy, and D. Brown were also present.

Correspondence was received from Mrs C. B. Ballin accepting the position of patroness, Mrs M. Sandston and Mrs W. Ballantyne accepting positions as vice-presidents, and enclosing donations to the club funds. Miss D. Brown reported that the Contre had abandoned the Queen Carnival owing to the lack of support by the larger clubs. She moved that a donation,of £5 be made to the Centre's touring fund from the money the club had collected. The motion was carried unanimously. It was decided to carry on with the evening that was to be held for the further raising of funds, but to make it complimentary to the members and those who had worked so hard for the club's queen. All arrangements were left in the hands M Mrs and Miss Brown.

Mrs D. Henry moved, and it was carried, that a challenge cup be purchased out of the Queen Carnival funds. Miss Brown was instructed to draw up conditions to be submitted to the next meeting.
