RANGIORA SHOW.
FINE DAY AND ATTENDANCE GOOD. Although it threatened rain in the eariv morning, the weather turned out beautifully fine and warm for the Northern Agricultural ar , d Pastoral Association's show at Kangiora yesterday, and there was a large attendance. There was a, good total oi entries, though some of the sections were weak and some breeds of sheep, for which T, !t \ Cre P roT tfe<", unrepresented. in. the sheep, section, W. W. Mcßae and J a-. Stevenson made up a. small show of good quality merino. Bouthdowue were very veil represented by exhibits from the flocks or several local breeders, which were generally of excellent type., .Corriedales provided tue largest entries in the sheen section, ana. there was very keen competition in tho different classes between the flocks of several well-known Ivorth Canterbury breeders. The sheep were of a, high class and the awards mostly went to Hugh Ensor and 0. T. t-yans. Some very prime heavy-weight .a,, wethers were shown, and the fat lambs

A few good Shorthorns, raostlv of tho milking type, were shown, the cow 3 in the latter classes showing that they belonged :.o a. heavy milking straiu. There were also some nice quality Ayrshire 3 and good speciof Friesians, "one of the cows being awaiaed a championship a> the best dairy covr. Jeiseys provided the largest entrie3 a:id thero was good competition in the various classes, in which there were some ■well bred and tyoica! specimens ot the bucd.
There was it. very good show of draugbt horses, but little competition, and, as- at Amberley the wec!< before, the main support was from the studs of the Wyllie Bros. The champion prize for the best two-year-old went to a filly shown by J. D. 'Wyllie. As in former years, light horses cob 3 and ponie3 formed" a leading feature of the show, though the entries were small in the breeding classes. In the classes for' sacldlo and harness exhibits there was very good' competition and fair to good quality was shown throughout. Thero was keen competition in the hunters' classes, which provided a final try-out before the Royal Show.
One'breeder, rho took most of the prizes at Ashburton tho day before, made tip the • greater part ■of the entry of pigs. Sheep dogs were fairly well represented. Home and dairy produce, cookery for adults and school children, ari and fancy work, and flowers made up a large and interesting feature of the show. Following ij the prize-list:
