SHANGHAI, November L\ Two hundred disgruntled Nationalist soldiers, being shipped from Shanghai to Foochow on a Chinese steamer, mutinied as the- vessel was leaving the harbour, overpowered the officers, and demanded arrears of wages, amounting to 40 cents apiece. They stopped the vessel and compelled the crew to return to the wharf. So far it was a bloodless affair. Then the local military authorities boarded the vessel and arrested two of the ringleaders, who were beheaded immediately.
The 40 cents were paid to the remainder, and the vessel departed.
