Rodman, Macdonald street, Geraidine, to say farewell to Mrs McMillan, on the eve of her;departure for. Scotland, after. residing in the Geraidine district for many years. The Rev. J. D. Madill spoke of the good qualities possessed by their guest, and wished her God-speed and a good voyage. Mrs Rodman presented Mrs McMillan .with a tortoise brush and comb on behalf of ber manv friends.

Band Bazaar Committee. . A. meeting-, of the Geraldino Band Bazaar Committee was held in Mr Kennedy's rooms at which Mr J. Mcllroy presided. The socretary' (Mr C. C. Knight) ■ reported that he had matters well forward in connexion with the hire of games, tug-of-war ropes, etc., .and it was decided to leave the final details in this connexion in his hands. The various stall-holders reported progress in their departments, and there was a general discussion on ways and means of catering for the general public.

farewell and Welcome. , A large . company assembled at ■ the Parish Hall, Geraldine, for the purpose of saying farewell to the Eev. H. M. Cocks, who has been curate of St. Mary's parish, Geraldine, for the past three, years, and who left on Wednesday to take charge of a parish on the West Coast; and to welcome Mr E. H. Orbell, People's churchwarden of St. Mary's, and Kis bride, on their return from Australia, where they were recently married. The vicar (the Kov. H. Purchas) presided. Th*. social opened with a pianoforte solo by Miss Hughes (organist of St. Mary's), and songs were contributed by Messrs G. Knibb, C. Gimson, and Mrs Donaldson, and a violin solo by Mr. J. P. Cliff, all the items being well received.

It was in many respects a memorable function.

" Cricket. , Tbe following will represent the Geraldiue Club in their match against Tiniaru Old Boys to-morrow, at Waihi College cricket ground, Winchester:— Williams, Wordsworth, Peter, StoneWigg, Houlihan, Saunders, Muff, Callanan, Glover, Turner, Eagg, Grieve.

Horticultural Society. The committee of the Geraldine Horticultural Society met in the Parish Hall, the Rev. H. Purchas, president, occupying the chair. The'secretary (Mr Morgan) reported that everything in connexion with the Spring Show had gone off very satisfactorily, and that apart from the excellence of the exhibits, it had also proved a financial success. It was decided that prize money be paid to the successful exhibitors on application. Matters in connexion with tho Rose Show were discussed, and it was decided to hold it on December 3rd.
