HEATHCOTE NEWS.
Social and Dance. One of the most popular socials yet held in Heathcote took place in St. Mary's schoolroom, wheD Mrs J. H. Cocks's concert party from Christchurch supplied tho * musical and vocal items. The schoolroom was packed almost to overflowing. The following contributed items: Misses Rita Lncas, Nina Pemberton, Rita Pemberton, Messrß Eobert Allison and Wm. Mann. The party were ably assisted by Messrs A. Oouch and W. Patience, of Lyttelton. Mrs J. H. Cocks and Miss Manihera, of Lyttelton, were the accompanists. Dancing was indulged in, the music for which was supplied by Mr W. Baunton's Orchestra.
Personal. Mrs C. J. Ashley, of Alexandra, who has been on a holiday to Marto'n, returned to Heathcote on Wednesday, and is staving with bar sister, Mrs C. Toy, of 'Leo street.
