FULL DAMAGES AWARDED.
* DEFENDANT FAILS TO APPEAR. (l-BESS ASSOCIATION TELEGBAH.) AUCKLAND, November 3. Alfred E. Moody, a builder, of Mangere, failed tb appear at the Supreme Court this morning to defend an action by Robert Leth and his wife, Aileen Mary Leth, for £4OO damages arising out of a motor accident on May 6th, 1927. . , a Judge Reed told the jury that, as defendant did not choose to appear, they were entitled to find that damage (injuries to Mrs Leth and damage to plaintiff's car) was caused by defendant's negligence in allowing a son of thirteen years and! eleven months _ to drive a motor, which crashed mto Leth's car. . „ „, • ■ The jury awarded £lo4 0s 6d special damages and £245 19s 6d general damages. Costs/ on the lowest scale were allowed.
