RECEIVING STOLEN GOODS.

TWELVE MONTHS' DETENTION,

(press association telegram.) / AUCKLAND, November 3. His Honour Mr Justice Reed sentenced Ina Beatrice Wills, aged 25, to twelve months' reformative detention on a charge of receiving stolen goods, the proceeds of a midlnight robbery at Epsom on August 6th. His Honour said the jury had taken the most favourable point of view in deciding that Mrs Wills was not a party to the actual breaking and entering, but he was forced to the conclusion that she knew everything that was going on, and was a party to the proceedings. He had also to take into serious consideration the perjury which Mrs Wills had committed, putting probation out of the question. He would not be doing his duty unless he imposed! a period of imprisonment.
