THE BISHOP OF BIRMINGHAM.
TO TUB IDITOB OF TBS F8133 Sir, —There seems to bo a world-wide couspiracy to throw dust in the eyes of the public about the Bishop of Birmingham. Your contributor, "Scrutator, appears to be the latest recruit for the movement. He says "The Bishop had said from his pulpit in Birmingham that man was related to the monkey. That was.his .heresy." In face of such clear-cut dogmatism it may seem presumptuous for a simple clergyman to intervene, but truth compels me to say that the monkey ness has nothing to do with the case. Dr. Barnes was denounced on account of certain utterances of his with reference to the Sacrament of the Lord's Body and Blood. If "Scrutator" would "scrutatc" a little more, would find this is the only possible verdict on the evidence. —Yours, etc., F.-T?: TAYLOR. Christchurch, November 2nd..
