BIG AMERICAN CONTRIBUTION. (BI CABLE—PRESS ASSOCIATION— COPYRIGHT.) (AUSTRALIAN AND N.Z. CABLE ASSOCIATION.) (Received November 2nd, 7.20 p.m.) NEW YORK, November 2. It is announced that Mr John D. Rockefeller, jun., has contributed 500,000 dollars to the international fund for rebuilding the Shakespeare Memorial Theatre at Stratford. A plan is also announced to increase the United States' contribution to 1,000,000 dollars by January Ist, 1928.
